The Academy
The Taiji Academy combines knowledge gathered from 5000 years of Chinese tradition and the research methods of Western medicine and modern natural sciences.
The Taiji Academy has focused its research on the practice of the Taiji breathing pattern.
The teaching of the individual breathing pattern takes the Taiji pupil’s breathing pattern into account. This breathing pattern must be individually identified, being the basis of the successful execution of each exercise.
Ignorance of the breathing pattern may lead to practicing the wrong movements. The knowledge of one’s own breathing pattern is the decisive factor for success in Taiji. The long history of Taiji gives evidence of both the potential and the more problematic aspects that result from knowledge or ignorance of the breathing pattern.
Under constant supervision by the Taiji Academy the Taiji School combines the traditional Chinese teaching method with the principles of Western education, thus generating an integrated practice of the art.
The scientific advisory council supports and assists the work of research.
